Karl Lagerfeld spent liberally on his sets for Chanel shows at each Paris fashion week. He has had the iceberg, the supermarket, a fake food hall, a manufactured beach, a giant bouclé jacket sculpture, and of course a rocket ship that actually took off?

Mr. Lagerfeld’s legacy is his visual identity, which was also expressed through these sets. They seemed to get bigger and bigger with every passing year.
