Meet the team
Steve Squires
Founder & Managing Director
Steve has worked in event productions and operations since 1996, following 7 years working in a marketing environment. Starting out as an exhibition and event Production Manager, and working in various roles including Producer, Project Manager, Operations Director, and Sponsorship Activation Manager, he has worked with clients in all sectors and around the world. He has been Global Head of Retail Operations working for Cheil in Seoul, South Korea and Head of Operations for Brand Activation and BTL at Leo Burnett. He is currently freelancing in the industry in various Project Director roles.
Ajay Parekh Director
Ajay has worked in event production and operations since 1994, prior to this a short stint in Feature Films and Theatre. Trained in Theatre Stage Management at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Starting out as a Creative Producer at Park Avenue Productions for 7 years, then Head of Production at MCI UK and for the last 11 years Managing Director of his own production company, Kabuki Productions Ltd. He has worked with clients in all sectors and around the world. He is a natural networker and social butterfly. Ajay join Steve to launch Connektd in the interest of developing the platform to reach the widest corners of the industry.
Tony Kempton Sales & Marketing
Tony has worked in live events productions and operations for over 20 years and has been lucky to have worked with some giants who have shaped and supported the industry, specialising in large format print, branding and design for every type of event. Working with production houses and agencies, Tony has had various roles as, Sales and Marketing Director, Project Manager, Account Manager, Production Manager, and Brand Manager for the 2002 Commonweath Games - and more recently 6 years MD of his own fabric production company. With his breadth of knowledge and experience Tony joined the team to develop the Connektd community.

Connektd is a free service which will allow you to hire as many people as you need - with no additional costs or fees. Designed to allow event agencies to build their own communities of freelance skill, Connektd also allows members to:

  • Search all the individual members using criteria specially written for the events industry

  • Advertise targeted roles when you are looking for a specific resource

  • Keep your network and the wider community updated about your company

  • Access the collective knowledge of the community's "hive mind"
